My good friend [Re-arrange] from IBM ask me to forward this advertistment, come on UTPIANS let`s bolot this one too:

Earlier this month, IBM has launched the "Search for the XML Superstar" in Malaysia, a brand new ASEAN-wide initiative open to all students, faculty members as well as professional developers.

Besides the opportunity to be an ASEAN XML Superstar, the series of contests allows you to acquire new skills such as XML and database management that can help increase your marketability in the global marketplace. You can participate in three categories:

  • Let your creativity fly with Video Mania,

  • Show your talent in Query Challenge, and.....

  • Take the ultimate challenge in Programming Contest!

In addition to learning and honing new skills, you will stand a chance to win Nintendo Wii systems, iPod Nanos and other attractive prizes. Early bird prizes will also be given to those who participate early. So sign up now and get a head start to becoming an XML Superstar!
Please encourage your students to participate in all category --- depending on their interest and expertise. They can join more than one category.

I urge all students taking Dabase Systems related courses to try out the individual Query Challenge, while the Multimedia students can tryout Video Mania. If you do have programming or adv programming class or campus please do consider the Programming Contest.
